We are committed to empowering those with Developmental Disabilities to make their own choices and to experience life's diverse possibilities.

Diverse Journeys, Inc. assists persons who have developmental disabilities to coordinate the support they need to live safely in their own homes.  We offer guidance to access and develop connections within their community and to choose the people and places with which they spend their time. This is done through individualized Supported Living Services, which are based upon each person's own unique needs, wants and desires for their future.

Supported Living Services offer a fundamentally different relationship between people with developmental disabilities and their service provider. We believe that how well we understand a person with a disability depends on where we stand in relationship to that person. If we stand over that person, assuming that we know best and that the individual will be better off if they do what we say, we miss the goal of Supported Living Services. If we stand away from that person(assuming that they are not valued and contributing members of our community) we miss the goal of Supported Living Services.

It is only when we stand with a person who has a developmental disability, recognizing their common humanity, honoring their personal desires to make a life for themselves and walking with them to create new opportunities, can we begin to understand the roots of Supported Living Services and the guiding philosophy of Diverse Journeys, Inc.
